Our customers and partners have been telling us they love our fresh approach to retirement planning for years, but it’s really rewarding to have the world’s leading industry publication for money management recognize our achievements in technology innovation. We’re excited to announce that Common Wealth is bringing home the Pensions & Investments WorldPensionSummit Award for Technology Innovations.
Nikki Pirrello, COO & Chairwoman WorldPensionSummit Pensions & Investments (left), presents the 2022 Innovation Award in Technology to Jonathan Weisstub, Common Wealth’s Co-founder and co-CEO, along with Don Ezra, former co-chair for Russell Investments.
Co-founder and co-CEO Jonathan Weisstub made the trip to The Hague, Netherlands, to attend the awards ceremony, which honoured retirement industry leaders from around the globe for their cutting-edge innovations in plan design, investing, communication, and technology. P&I’s team of judges reviewed entries from organizations worldwide and awarded the best out-of-the-box thinkers and trailblazers in the retirement business.
“This product is really innovative… and will represent a point of reference for many other pension providers. For Canada it is a new mechanism for companies to promote the retirement savings through a B2B friendly platform. The jury is convinced that this initiative represents the future of pension plans. Really inspiring!”
Common Wealth was chosen from a field of nearly 50 leading industry players, and finalists for the technology award included Australia’s AMP, Denmark’s AP Pension, Kenya’s County Pension Fund, Cyprus’ Emergo Wealth Ltd, South Africa’s Eskom Pension and Provident Fund, and the UK’s Smart Pension.
“We are thrilled to see Pensions & Investments‘ focus on technology within the retirement industry, and it is an honour to have won in this category among such an esteemed group of finalists. We are proud to be part of the digital transformation that is happening around the world and will continue to strive for innovation for the benefit of our members, sponsors, and advisors,” says Mr. Weisstub.
A modern technology platform is key to building a better retirement savings system – both in the workplace, and for individuals trying to navigate to and through retirement. From payroll integrations and our secure, cloud-based recordkeeping engine, to a digital member experience with built-in retirement planning, digital access to annuities, and enhanced mobile access, we’re continuously delivering new features to create value for our members, sponsors, and partners. Our modern technology architecture allows us to innovate with a speed and efficiency that legacy technology can’t come close to matching.
This award is the WorldPensionSummit’s latest industry nod to Common Wealth and our partners, who have been recognized for innovative plan design – the Advantages Retirement Plan™ with the Ontario Medical Association (2020 winner), Common Good Plan for Canada’s not-for-profit sector, (2021 runner-up), and my65+ for SEIU Healthcare (2018 finalist).
