Financial planning path
Work with a financial planner
Step 1: Consultation — free, 30 minutes, no pressure
Tell us where you’re at. We’ll listen, ask the right questions, and walk you through how we’d approach your planning — so you can decide if it’s the right fit. No commitment required.
Step 2: Building your plan together
We get to know your full picture — your income, savings, goals, and household, including your spouse, even if they’re not a Common Wealth member. From there, your planner builds a personalized long-term plan and works through it with you.
We’ll explore scenarios such as retiring earlier or later, varying spending levels, and downsizing. We’ll answer the real questions — when to take CPP and OAS, which accounts to draw from first, how to create a retirement paycheque — and stress-test your plan against the unexpected.
Step 3: Putting your plan into action
We help you implement your plan and stay with you as life changes — adjusting alongside you so your plan always reflects where you’re headed.
Accessible pricing for Common Wealth members
Comprehensive financial planning typically costs $5,000 or more. As a Common Wealth member, plans start at $2,000 and may already be included in your available services depending on your total savings. Your consultation will cover what applies to you.
